Alex Wood – Manchester Marathon

Congratulations to our very own Mr Alex Wood on his completion of the UK’s second largest marathon – The Manchester Marathon!
Alex said: “This was my first official marathon and to do it in my hometown alongside 30,000+ other people was a really special moment.
Completing a Marathon is so similar to projects at work. Preparation, hard work, dedication, passion, commitment and so many other similarities.
If you've never done one, I implore you to sign up. The rush I got from the screaming crowds, kids with homemade signs, runners in fancy dress, the party at the back... it was all amazing and something I will never forget and if you think you can’t do it, well, I'm 21 stone and I got round the course.
I didn't run this time for a charity, although I wore my Macmillan T-shirt. this one was a little more personal, running for a friend who I lost suddenly who was a huge inspiration to me and we had agreed to run a marathon together. Well, Rob, this is for you mate.
