.

Throughout 2019 & 2020 Prowood have supplied some of the largest Siberian Larch cladding projects in the UK.

Siberian Larch or Russian Larch (Larix Sibirica) is a dense & durable softwood native to western Russia, from close to the Finnish border east to the Yenisei valley in central Siberia.

The harsh climate in which Siberian Larch grows gives the specie some brilliant natural attributes such as:

  • High Density: 590 – 670kgs/m³
  •
  • Biological Durability Class 4
  •
  • Use class 3, which for external cladding purposes, Siberian Larch is a naturally durable timber.
  •
  • The presence of tannins in the wood create a high resistance to decay and rot, making Siberian Larch one of the toughest and most durable softwoods.
