The National 3 Peaks Challenge - Prowood Ltd

Tuesday 13th July 2021.

The National Three Peaks Challenge is an attempt to climb the highest peaks in Scotland, England and Wales in ‘one go’ inside 24hrs.

What started as a group of 8 people on Ben Nevis finished with just 3 people on Mount Snowdon.

Although the elapsed times on each mountain were great the team spent a huge amount of precious time dealing with injuries, detours & making emergency stops.

Joe, Adam and Peter set off with just 3.5hrs left of their 24hr budget knowing it would take a whole new level of physical and mental strength to complete the challenge.

Snowdon was a brutal climb. The team returned to Pen Y Pass car park with just 17 minutes to spare, keeping inside 24hrs and completing the challenge, resting for only 13 minutes of the 3hrs & 13 mins of elapsed time!

“I put everything I had into this challenge. This was by far the hardest thing I’ve ever done but I’m over the moon to have completed it.” – Joe Hunter

Huge thanks to Steve Hunter,
Rachel Hunter and Katie Forsyth for the 24hr support and driving.

Elapsed Times:
Ben Nevis - 4hrs 36 mins.
Scafell Pike - 3hrs 12 mins.
Snowdon - 3hrs 13mins.

We managed to raise £4247 (including gift aid) for Wigan & Leigh Hospice so far, so thank you to everyone who donated.
